About

This photo is from six years ago, and I can’t help but to wonder what might be different if I knew then what I know now.
Hi, I’m Heather.

Despite my best efforts, I went from yoga teacher and health practitioner to living with chronic illness. If you’ve found this page while navigating your own chronic illness journey, please know this first: it is not your fault.

For nearly twenty years, I worked as a massage therapist and acupuncturist, helping people find relief, reconnect with their bodies, and feel empowered in their health journeys. But when chronic illness entered my own life, everything changed. Overnight, I went from being the practitioner to being the patient, facing the same frustrations, identity shifts, and daily challenges that so many of us experience.

That turning point sparked a new mission: to create a space where people living with chronic illness can feel seen, supported, and less alone. Through my podcast, Patreon community, email list and upcoming programmes, I share honest conversations about the realities of illness, mental health, identity, and resilience. My goal is to help you find hope, calm, and practical tools for navigating life when it looks very different from what you once imagined.

Alongside my own healing journey, I’m also completing a degree in psychology, focusing on how we adapt, stay motivated, and make meaning in challenging circumstances. I weave this knowledge into my work to offer both empathy and evidence-based insight into mind-body healing and self-compassion.

When I’m not recording or writing, you’ll probably find me crocheting, playing video games, reading, or enjoying quiet time with my family and pets.

If you’ve ever felt like your illness has stolen parts of who you are, I want you to know you’re not alone. This space is for you — a place to reconnect with yourself, rediscover hope, and to remember that healing is still possible despite our physical limitations because we are all so much more.

Sometimes the smallest steps can lead us back to ourselves. The Human Potential Journal is a gentle companion to help you reflect, rebuild trust with your body, and find hope again.
